Hague Apostille for documents and translations

The Hague apostille is a certification that confirms the authenticity of an official document so it can be used abroad, in the states that signed the Hague Convention. For Romanian documents leaving the country, the apostille usually goes together with a certified translation. When you need an apostille

You need an apostille when an authority in another state asks you for an official Romanian document. The usual situations:

• Civil status documents: birth, marriage, and death certificates.
• Educational documents: diplomas, transcripts.
• Criminal record certificate and various certificates.
• Notarial documents: powers of attorney, declarations, contracts.

For states that are not party to the Hague Convention, a different procedure applies, super-legalization (consular legalization). We tell you right away which is your case.
